JIRA integration

QRebel features a JIRA integration, that allows you to quickly create relevant JIRA issues in your JIRA project for problems detected by QRebel.


Setting up QRebel JIRA integration

This section details the steps necessary to set up an QRebel JIRA integration.


QRebel JIRA user creation

To start, you need to create a separate QRebel JIRA user with relevant privileges in the desired project.

  1. Access your Atlassian/JIRA user management with an administrator account.
  2. Open the User browser.
  3. Press Create User.
  4. Give this user a recognizable QRebel name. For the purposes of this guide, let’s name it qrebel.
  5. Complete the user creation.

QRebel JIRA user privileges

The user you created needs read and write privileges for the projects into which you wish it to create new issues.

  1. Access your Atlassian/JIRA user management with an administrator account.
  2. Open the User browser.
  3. Locate the user you created previously, for example qrebel.
  4. Open the Project Roles view.
  5. Add the user to the relevant groups.

QRebel project settings

To add JIRA integration to existing QRebel projects, follow these steps.

  1. Open project Settings.
  2. Locate the section titled Setup JIRA connection.
  3. Specify your JIRA URL and log in using qrebel.
  4. Select the project you wish qrebel to create issues in.
  5. Select the default issue type for issues created by qrebel.
  6. Press Finish when done.

Tip

The JIRA integration option is automatically displayed when creating new projects. Select Connect this project to JIRA and log in by specifying the JIRA URL and user credentials.


Creating JIRA issues from QRebel

Press Create JIRA issue in any endpoint view to automatically create a JIRA issue in the configured project. The issue status will be displayed in the relevant entry point until resolved.
